    • Bodelwyddan Castle is a Victorian country house museum with acres of parkland, gardens, family-friendly galleries and events throughout the year. We are a regional partner of the National Portrait Gallery with beautifully restored Victorian rooms providing a spectacular setting for enjoying the 19th century displays. We offer a free audio guide, the 'Bodelwyddan Banqueteers' family trail, interactive galleries exploring how portraits are made, hands-on Victorian Inventions & Amusements gallery, a changing exhibitions programme, and special activities and events for families. There are about 40 acres of grounds for you to explore, including the deer park for walks, picnics and spectacular views; the remains of rare World War 1 practice trenches with new information panels; an adventure play area; walled garden with a maze and Four Seasons Garden designed by Thomas Mawson; woodland walk with bird hide; and a recently restored orchard replated with rare old Welsh varieties. Bodelwyddan Castle is managed by a charitable trust with the education, conservation and social inclusion as its priorities.
